A downloadable tool for Windows and Linux

Palette Creator 2D is a simple tool to quickly generate palettes and export them to a .png file.

Instructions

Use your mouse to select any cell. You can then change its color using the color picker.  Changing a cells color sets it to fixed. This is indicated by a white square in its center.

If there are two fixed cells in the same row or column without a disabled cell in between them , the free cells in between are colored using linear HSV interpolation.

Use the left mouse button to select a cell. Doing so will change the colorpicker's color to the cell's color. Also selecting a disabled cell will turn it into a free cell.

Use the middle mouse button to fix a free cell without changing its color.

Use the right mouse button to free a fixed cell.

Use the right mouse button to disable a free cell.

You can move cells using drag'n'drop. Doing so while holding shift will instead copy the cell.

Exporting will create a .png-file  containing only the colors of fixed cells.
